The Chery Tiggo 9 PHEV is a large-size SUV designed with the concept of “conquer” and “guard” in mind. The car has a “Saturn Ring” grille with a glowing Chery logo and flat details.
The body of the car has an optional chrome-plated frame at the rear. The car uses eye-catching 20-inch multi-spoke wheels similar to Mercedes-Benz. At the rear is an LED strip connecting the taillights, dual exhaust pipes, and a large PHEV logo.
The Tiggo 9 has an overall length x width x height of 4.810 x 1.925 x 1.741 mm. Compared to the Tiggo 8 Pro version, the car is 88 mm longer, 65 mm wider, and 36 mm taller, a significant upgrade. Chery also said that the rear seat option allows the car to accommodate 7 adults.
Inside, the top-of-the-line Tiggo features luxurious materials, and the display car is adorned in cream and blue leather. Unlike what we’ve seen from Chery so far with Mercedes-Benz-style seamless screens, the screens here are visually separated, and the center display is a large 15.6-inch 2.5K HD screen. The seats are upholstered in leather and feature 3D-style stitching.
Under the hood is a PHEV powertrain that combines a 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, an 8-speed automatic transmission, and Chery’s “3DHT” electric motor. The Tiggo has a total output of 235 horsepower, while the engine’s thermal efficiency is 221 horsepower. Chery claims a fuel efficiency of 5.2 liters/100 km in China’s WLTC mode, equivalent to a range of over 1,400 km.
The Chery Tiggo 9 PHEV will be available along with the pure gasoline version in Q4 2024.
