Toyota Vietnam Holds National Skills Competition 2024

On July 29, 2024, Toyota Motor Vietnam held the National Finals of the 2024 Toyota Skills Contest for sales and service staff from Toyota dealers nationwide. This was the 23rd edition of the contest since its inception in 1999 and has become a regular activity to encourage and evaluate in-house training at dealerships, thereby developing and maintaining standard operating procedures for sales and customer service teams across the entire Toyota system.

The National Finals of the 2024 Toyota Skills Contest was held at Toyota Tu Son dealership with 73 representatives selected through the qualifying rounds organized in May across the nationwide Toyota dealer system. The contest also provided an opportunity for the participants to enhance their expertise and gain valuable experience for their future careers.

This year’s contest featured participants in seven categories: Sales, Service Advisor, Customer Care, Parts, General Repair, Body Repair, and Paint Repair. This was the first time that all seven categories in both sales and service fields were fully represented, demonstrating the dealers’ proactive approach to in-house training and human resource development.

The theme of the 2024 Toyota Skills Contest, “Dedication and Professionalism,” reflects Toyota’s commitment to excellence in its work. This demanded that contestants possess deep expertise, a serious work ethic, and a sense of responsibility. The contest provided an opportunity for participants to enhance their skills, foster creativity, and develop high-quality human resources. This, in turn, motivates employees and ensures the highest level of customer service, leading to customer satisfaction. This theme truly serves as a guiding principle for the entire contest, aiming for the sustainable development and long-term success of the brand.

In his opening remarks at the National Finals, Mr. Keita Nakano, President of Toyota Vietnam, emphasized, “We deeply understand that only a well-trained and professional workforce can implement the correct sales and service procedures of Toyota, and the skills contest is an excellent opportunity to enhance not only technical skills but also valuable customer care experience for Toyota staff.”

With the enthusiastic support and participation of Toyota dealers nationwide, the 23rd National Finals of the Toyota Skills Contest concluded successfully.
