Kia K8: A Sleek and Sophisticated Upgrade
Kia has recently unveiled the upgraded version of its mid-size sedan, the K8. This is the first update since its initial launch in 2021.
Competing in the same segment as the Toyota Avalon and Hyundai Grandeur, the 2025 Kia K8 boasts impressive dimensions. This sedan measures 5,050 mm in length, 1,875 mm in width, and 1,455 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,895 mm. It is 35 mm longer than its predecessor.
While the previous K8 had a sleek and elegant design inspired by Genesis, the new version takes on a completely different look. The 2025 Kia K8 adopts the United Opposites design language, similar to other new Kia models such as the EV9, Carnival, Sorento, and Morning. The front of the car features a striking daytime running light design inspired by star maps. The grille has also been redesigned and painted the same color as the body.
From the side, the K8 retains its stylish coupe silhouette. At the rear, the taillights are slender and connected by a horizontal LED strip across the trunk lid.
Kia offers six exterior color options for the K8, including two new colors: Ivory Silver and Sunset Beige.
Known as a luxurious sedan bearing a non-luxury badge, the Kia K8 has always stood out for its upscale interior. The new version takes it a notch higher with a host of modern technologies. The entire cabin is wrapped in premium leather with various color options, complemented by dark wood trim.
The dashboard features a large curved display that integrates a digital instrument cluster and a central infotainment screen. Ambient lighting and a Meridian sound system further enhance the sophisticated ambiance.
The K8 also boasts an array of high-end features, including the latest ccNC infotainment system, two wireless phone chargers, a driver recognition fingerprint scanner, and a center armrest storage box with UV-C sterilization.
The new K8 is equipped with advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), including intelligent cruise control, lane-keeping assist, forward collision avoidance, and more.
Similar to its predecessor, the 2025 Kia K8 offers four engine options. The first is a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder gasoline engine producing 198 horsepower and 248 Nm of torque. The second is a 3.5-liter Smartstream naturally aspirated gasoline engine with 300 horsepower and 359 Nm of torque. The third option is a 3.5-liter LPi engine that runs on liquefied petroleum gas, delivering 240 horsepower and 314 Nm of torque. Lastly, there’s a hybrid powertrain with a 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, generating a combined output of 230 horsepower. These engines are paired with an all-wheel-drive system, a new electronic suspension, and a high-speed vehicle control system.
Kia announced that the 2025 K8 will be available in South Korea later this year, with prices ranging from 37.36 million to 51.67 million Won (approximately $68,800 to $95,200).
