At the 2023 Munich Exhibition, Mercedes-Benz announced its plans to expand its iconic G-Class lineup with a smaller model.
Since then, the brand has kept further details about this mini G-Class under wraps. To give enthusiasts a better idea, the Q Cars YouTube channel recently released a video, showcasing a conceptual design for the miniature G-Wagen.
The rendered mini G-Class boasts a design that closely resembles its larger sibling, albeit in a more compact package.
It retains the boxy, rugged silhouette synonymous with the G-Class, ensuring its off-road capabilities remain intact. The smaller dimensions, however, promise improved approach, break-over, and departure angles over the standard model.
This conceptual Mercedes-AMG G-Class mini sports a bold green exterior with black sporty rims. It features LED headlights with DRLs, and a spare tire mounted on the rear.
According to speculations, this mini G-Class is expected to make its debut in 2026. Mercedes-Benz’s technical director revealed that the mini G-Wagen will not utilize the Mercedes Modular Architecture (MMA) platform, unlike the CLA concept unveiled in September 2023.
Instead, it will share a platform with Mercedes’ large rear-wheel-drive models, optimizing its off-road capabilities.
To make it more accessible to a wider range of customers, the mini G-Class is rumored to be priced lower than its full-size counterpart. Estimates place the price between $55,000 and $65,000 (approximately 1.36 to 1.49 billion VND).
