The 25th Gumball 3000 super car journey officially commenced its first day with over 100 super cars, starting from Di An, Binh Duong province and ending at Le Loi Boulevard, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City as the gathering point.
At 9 am sharp, the pair of Bugatti Chiron and Bugatti Chiron Super Sport, along with a RAM TRX vehicle, departed from the capital of Cambodia towards the Bavet border gate. They completed the necessary procedures and crossed over to the Moc Bai border gate in Tay Ninh province, aiming to join the Gumball 3000 2024 fleet in the afternoon of September 14th.
However, in an unexpected turn of events, all three vehicles had to return to Cambodia and were unable to reach Le Loi Boulevard. The reason for this remains undisclosed, but it certainly left a sense of disappointment for young car enthusiasts in Vietnam, who missed the opportunity to witness the neighboring country’s mega car duo during the first two days of the Gumball 3000 super car journey.
It is unclear whether the two Bugatti Chiron and Bugatti Chiron Super Sport cars joined the Cambodian super car group at the Bavet border gate this morning as initially planned. Prior to this, several cars had also missed their chance to participate in Gumball 3000 2024, including the Koenigsegg Jesko, Bugatti Chiron, and Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport.
The French supercar manufacturer produced only 60 Bugatti Chiron Super Sports worldwide, each priced at $3.9 million, roughly equivalent to 90 billion VND. This limited-edition model offers a combination of power and luxurious features that set it apart from the speed monster Chiron Super Sport 300+.
The million-dollar Bugatti Chiron Super Sport is equipped with a W16 engine, an 8.0-liter capacity, and four turbochargers, generating a maximum output of 1,578 horsepower and a peak torque of 1,600 Nm. However, the French automaker has limited its top speed to 440 km/h for safety and compliance reasons.
