After an exciting two-day stint in neighboring Cambodia, the Gumball 3000 2024 supercar convoy crossed the border into Thailand on the afternoon of September 17, 2024. The rally promises an even more spectacular display of automotive excellence as it continues its journey through Southeast Asia.
Today marks the fourth day of the rally, and the convoy was joined by two new official members: the Bugatti Chiron and Bugatti Chiron Super Sport. These two automotive masterpieces had initially arrived in Vietnam for the first leg of the rally but were unable to participate due to missing paperwork for entry into the country.
The two Bugattis, after greeting the hundreds of supercars in Cambodia, swiftly joined the international convoy as they entered Thailand. They will remain with the group until the final leg of the rally in Singapore.
In Thailand, the 25th Gumball 3000 rally will showcase its splendor in Bangkok and Krabi over the next two days before proceeding to Malaysia on September 19, 2024.
With the addition of these two Bugattis, the current lineup for the 25th Gumball 3000 rally boasts an impressive collection of five hypercars, including the Pagani Huayra BC Roadster and Porsche Carrera GT, alongside three megacars: the aforementioned Bugattis and the Koenigsegg Regera “Honey.”
The Bugatti Chiron Super Sport is an exclusive model, with only 60 units produced worldwide. It carries a price tag of $3.9 million, approximately 90 billion Vietnamese dong, a significant increase from the standard Chiron. However, the Super Sport offers a unique combination of performance and luxurious appointments, setting it apart from its speed-focused sibling, the Chiron Super Sport 300+.
The Bugatti Chiron Super Sport, despite sharing the same W16 engine configuration with a displacement of 8.0 liters and four turbochargers, delivers an astonishing 1,578 horsepower and 1,600 Nm of torque. The French automaker has limited the vehicle’s top speed to 440 km/h for safety and regulatory compliance.
