Built By Legends (BBL), a renowned Japanese car modification company, has unveiled its second Nissan GT-R R34 restoration project for the year. This time, the iconic car is coated in a stunning Bayside Blue exterior, a departure from the white finish of its first project revealed in June.

The project commenced with a 3D scan of the entire R34 base vehicle to gather essential data, followed by a complete disassembly.

Subsequently, the vehicle’s frame was restored and reinforced by Garage Yoshida, specialists in GT-R modifications. A new set of bracing bars was installed before the frame was completed using a wet spray method and additional welds for reinforcement.

While the R34 is a performance icon, it is also a quarter-century old, and many of its components have become outdated. Therefore, BBL equipped the Skyline GT-R with all-new bushings, axles, and a sports suspension system.

Additionally, BBL installed AP Racing six-piston brake calipers at the front, clamping down on 356 mm discs, while four-piston calipers were fitted at the rear. Custom 18-inch Rays wheels, wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza 71RS tires sized 265/35R18, further enhance the vehicle’s performance.

The most notable upgrade in this Nissan GT-R R34 restoration project lies under the hood. BBL replaced the original RB26 engine with a modified 2.8L MB7 engine from MINE, boosting the power output to an impressive 650 horsepower. This significant increase from the original 250 horsepower places the R34’s performance on par with modern supercars.

The engine is paired with a high-strength 6-speed Getrag manual transmission. Additionally, a carbon fiber air intake, optimized ECU, and a new engine cover have been installed.

The interior has also been refreshed with a black and navy Ultrasuede color scheme, harmonizing with the exterior. The new steering wheel is wrapped in a combination of Alcantara and Nappa leather, while aluminum pedals add a modern touch.

According to BBL, each Nissan GT-R R34 restoration and upgrade project takes approximately one year to complete and starts at a cost of 450,000 USD (approximately 11.4 billion VND). This price covers only labor and materials, excluding the cost of the vehicle or modification base.
