A prominent private car dealer in Ho Chi Minh City has recently started taking deposits for the Super Cub 50 Final Edition.
The dealer shared that the vehicles will be shipped to Vietnam from February 2025 and delivered to customers in March 2025, with a price tag of 132 million VND.
Being a limited edition, this price is significantly higher than the 2024 Super Cub 50 standard version imported from Japan, which private dealers are currently offering for around 80 million VND.
Unveiled on November 4, the Super Cub 50 Final Edition marks the end of an era as Honda discontinues production of this iconic model, concluding its nearly 60-year market presence as one of the world’s most popular motorcycles. Only 2,000 units of this final edition will be produced, retailing in Japan for 270,000 yen (approximately 45 million VND).
The Honda Super Cub 50 Final Edition boasts a design and color scheme inspired by the first-generation Super Cub 50 from 1966. Additionally, it features a classic analog instrument cluster, a rear carrier, and a unique key design.
The Super Cub 50 Final Edition retains the same powertrain as the current version. It is powered by a 49 cc air-cooled, single-cylinder, four-stroke engine that delivers 3.7 horsepower and a maximum torque of 3.8 Nm.
The Honda Super Cub has gained popularity in various global markets due to its versatility, user-friendliness, fuel efficiency, and durability. It also holds a special place in the hearts of many Vietnamese who grew up with these bikes in the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s. Even today, imported Cub bikes are sought after by enthusiasts for their retro appeal, often commanding high prices in the resale market.
