A host of newcomers to the Vietnamese market have been offered discounts of up to hundreds of millions VND.
Subaru Crosstrek
The Subaru Crosstrek was introduced to Vietnamese customers in October at the VMS 2024 exhibition. Two versions of the car are available in Vietnam, priced at 1.098 billion and 1.268 billion VND, respectively.
At the time of its launch, Subaru announced promotional prices of 999 and 1,169 billion VND (a reduction of 99 million on both versions) for the first 99 customers who purchased the car at the exhibition. However, the Japanese automaker recently announced that this discount would be extended until Lunar New Year 2025.
The Subaru Crosstrek offers two engine options. The standard version is equipped with a 2.0L gasoline engine that produces 154 horsepower and 196 Nm of torque.
The premium version features a hybrid powertrain that combines a 2.0L gasoline engine with 145 horsepower, 188 Nm of torque, and an electric motor that generates 13.6 horsepower and 65 Nm of torque. Both versions use a continuously variable transmission and all-wheel drive.
Omoda C5
The Omoda C5 is a new entrant to the urban SUV segment in Vietnam, launched in late November. The car is available in two versions, Premium and Flagship, priced at 589 and 669 million VND, respectively.
Customers who purchase the car in December will receive a one-year free body insurance, free maintenance service for two years or 20,000 km from Omoda & Jaecoo Vietnam. The total value of the promotion is 15 million VND, applicable to the first 200 customers who make a deposit of at least 10 million VND.
Both versions of the OMODA C5 are equipped with a 1.5L Turbo engine, producing 145 horsepower and a maximum torque of 210 Nm, combined with a CVT transmission and front-wheel drive. The car can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 9.9 seconds.
Hyundai Accent
The Hyundai Accent was introduced to the Vietnamese market in late May 2024. Since then, this B-segment sedan has been continuously offered with discounts by dealers, in addition to the registration fee support from the government.
Customers who purchase the Accent in December will receive discounts of 20 – 35 million VND from some dealers, along with a number of accessories.
The Hyundai Accent 2024 is sold in Vietnam with four versions, priced from 439 – 569 million VND.
Under the hood of the car is a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine, producing a maximum output of 115 horsepower and a maximum torque of 144 Nm, combined with a 6-speed manual or IVT transmission.

Introduced to Vietnam in August 2024, just one month later, a number of dealers offered the MG7 with discounts of 51 – 60 million VND for the two versions, 1.5T Luxury 51 and 2.0T Premium.
Customers who purchase the car in December will receive a free physical insurance package worth 10 million VND from MG. Some dealers also offer an additional discount of 20 million VND off the selling price.
The MG7 sold in Vietnam is positioned in the D-segment sedan category. The car is offered in three versions, with prices ranging from 738 million to 1.018 billion VND.
The standard MG7 is powered by a 1.5L turbocharged engine that produces 167 horsepower and 275 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch ZF transmission.
Meanwhile, the two higher-end versions will be equipped with a 2.0L turbocharged engine that generates 227 horsepower and 380 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to an 8-speed ZF transmission.
Electric Vehicles
2024 also witnessed the entry of several new electric vehicle models into the Vietnamese market, such as: BYD Dolphin, BYD Atto 3, BYD Seal, MG4 EV, MG Cyberster, GAC Aion ES, Aion Y Plus, and Wuling Bingo.
Customers who purchase these electric vehicles are also eligible for attractive promotions. For instance, those who buy the MG4 EV and MG Cyberster will receive a free 7 kW charger and 12 months of free charging at MG’s partner locations.
Similarly, customers who make a deposit for the Wuling Bingo will receive a free AC charger, a year of free charging, and a portable DC 7kW charger. The total value of these promotions amounts to 26 million VND.
Likewise, GAC Aion is offering a free maintenance and charging package for three years at their dealerships, three years of physical insurance, and a travel charger for customers who purchase the Aion ES and Y Plus electric vehicles.
