At the 2025 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), BMW unveiled its new “Panoramic Vision” display, along with a unique new steering wheel design.
The new BMW steering wheel will no longer feature a speedometer, eliminating the need for drivers to look through the wheel for information. BMW has also transformed the horizontal bar into a vertical one, turning the three-spoke wheel into a four-spoke, giving it a unique inverted appearance.
The BMW is also equipped with an optional 3D HUD that displays navigation and autonomous driving information directly in the driver’s line of sight. BMW states that the use of two head-up displays is unique, and information will be “presented in a neatly coordinated manner.”
The new BMW will feature a display running between the A-pillars, near the base of the windshield, functioning as a heads-up display. The screen is divided into three parts, with the section directly in front of the driver serving as a digital instrument cluster. The remaining two parts can be customized with widgets and can be swiped up from the infotainment system to the Panoramic Vision display.
This system can hold up to six applications, which users can arrange as they prefer. These apps include a compass, weather display, audio controls, navigation, current power and torque, and a G Meter.
The new steering wheel and display are expected to be featured in both electric and internal combustion engine models of the Neue Klasse line, potentially launching by the end of this year.
