A Cadillac Lyriq owner in the US was frustrated as his car had to stay in the garage for nine months due to a lack of spare parts from the manufacturer.

Specifically, Mr. Levan Azrumelashvili purchased a brand new Cadillac Lyriq in late 2023 to support his business by transporting goods. After a minor collision that damaged the front bumper, he took it to the authorized repair shop. However, months passed, and as of now, it has been about nine months, and the manufacturer still cannot provide the necessary spare parts. Consequently, the Cadillac Lyriq remains immobilized in the workshop.

Currently, the Cadillac Lyriq is still in series production and being sold in the market, but GM claims they cannot supply the parts Mr. Levan needs.

Up to now, Mr. Levan’s company has gone bankrupt, and the car is still stuck in the garage. This prolonged delay has forced him to continuously pay insurance and installment fees despite not being able to use the vehicle.

The insurance payments Mr. Levan has to make are related to his limousine transportation business. On average, he has to spend $1,100 (27.6 million VND/month) on insurance and $1,437 (36.1 million/month) on installments.

Previously, Mr. Levan also discovered that GM had requested to buy back his car in December 2024. However, no dealership informed him of this. Before that date, GM canceled the buyback decision.

Having spent a lot of time waiting and paying more than 60 million VND per month in taxes and fees, Mr. Levan hopes that GM can quickly resolve the issue by buying back his car and compensating him for the insurance payments and lost income due to his inability to operate his business. But it seems that this case is far from over, and a resolution seems unlikely.

After being shared on social media, this incident has caused some damage to the luxury car brand Cadillac’s reputation among customers.
