In late November 2024, the new Nissan Almera was officially introduced to Vietnamese customers. In this facelift, the Nissan Almera is still imported from Thailand with a total of three versions, including the Almera EL priced at 489 million VND, the Almera V at 529 million VND, and the Almera VL at 569 million VND.
Compared to its predecessor, the starting price of the Nissan Almera is now 50 million VND lower, and even the highest-end version is 26 million VND cheaper. With a price reduction, exterior changes, and upgraded equipment, is the Nissan Almera ready to become a “hot” model in the B-segment sedan market?
A More Appealing Design
The new Nissan Almera’s dimensions are 4,495 mm in length, 1,740 mm in width, and 1,455 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,620 mm. The ground clearance is 160 mm for the VL version, and the turning radius is 5.2 m for all versions.
Compared to the old model, the 2025 Nissan Almera is slightly lower in overall height, while the other dimensions remain unchanged.
Therefore, the most noticeable difference in the Nissan Almera facelift is the front end, where the grille still features the brand’s distinctive V-Motion style but is wider and formed by horizontal silver bars.

Compared to the old grille design, the new Nissan Almera’s front end looks more modern and youthful. The upgraded Almera’s wheels also feature a new multi-spoke design, with a size increase to 16 inches on the top-of-the-line VL version.
The B-segment sedan’s appearance has become more appealing than its predecessor, which is a significant improvement for the new Nissan Almera.
Aside from the front end and wheel design, the rest of the Nissan Almera’s exterior remains unchanged in this latest facelift. The LED boomerang-shaped headlights, which come standard on the mid-range EL version, feature automatic on/off functionality and integrated LED daytime running lights.
The luggage compartment offers a standard capacity of 482 liters, which is quite spacious for a small family’s short-term travel needs.

In this facelift, Nissan has added several features to the Almera to maximize customer satisfaction, including armrests for both rows of seats and a wireless charging pad.
Nissan, a Japanese carmaker, continues to emphasize the Almera’s sound insulation advantage over its B-segment sedan rivals by using noise-reducing windshield glass.
To enhance the Almera’s practicality, Nissan has included the Idling Stop feature, which can be turned on and off via a physical button located to the left of the steering wheel.
Combined with the segment’s only 1.0L turbocharged engine, the new Nissan Almera achieves fuel efficiency figures of 4.5 liters per 100 km for extra-urban driving and 6.4 liters for urban driving, which is lower than the Toyota Vios.

The Nissan Intelligent Mobility safety technology package is also available on the Almera VL, including features such as forward collision warning, lane departure warning, tire pressure monitoring, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive headlights, and a 360-degree camera system.
Easy to Drive
The 1.0L turbocharged gasoline engine in the Nissan Almera produces a maximum output of 100 horsepower and a peak torque of 152 Nm.
Compared to its competitors in the same segment, which use naturally aspirated gasoline engines, such as the Toyota Vios (106 hp/140 Nm), Hyundai Accent (115 hp/144 Nm), and Honda City (119 hp/145 Nm), the Almera’s engine may be at a slight disadvantage in terms of horsepower, but it has higher torque, ensuring smooth acceleration and easy overtaking when needed.

The Nissan Almera is easy to drive, thanks to the efficient electric power steering. Precise steering response also makes it easy to “weave” the B-segment sedan through city traffic.
The Almera’s sound insulation capabilities make it more comfortable to drive in urban environments. Real-world testing shows that the Almera’s cabin remains quiet even when driving in Ho Chi Minh City during rush hour.
One of the Nissan Almera’s strengths is its rear seat space. Thanks to its 2,620 mm wheelbase, this B-segment sedan offers 620 mm of legroom for rear passengers.
Combined with a very “sedan” roof design and seats with the right amount of recline and depression, the Almera’s rear seats can provide a comfortable seating position for an adult about 1.75 m tall.

The performance of the safety technology package equipped in the new Nissan Almera has yet to be proven. However, the 360-degree camera system, which provides clear images, is a very useful tool when reversing, especially when maneuvering in tight urban spaces.
Who is the Almera Suitable For?
Before the facelift, the Nissan Almera was an imported model with only two versions, and its price was relatively high. Even with a price reduction of 26-50 million VND and the addition of a mid-range version to increase diversity, the Nissan Almera still faces challenges to become a sales hit in the B-segment sedan market.
The price range of 489-569 million VND in this facelift still does not make the Nissan Almera more attractive when compared to the Toyota Vios (458-545 million VND), Hyundai Accent (439-569 million VND), or Honda City (499-569 million VND), which are the best-selling models in the affordable sedan segment.
This price is also higher than the more accessible models in the group below the sales chart, including the Mazda2 (408-508 million VND), Mitsubishi Attrage (380-490 million VND), and Kia Soluto (386-449 million VND).

With some upgrades, the new Nissan Almera will gain a slight competitive edge in the B-segment sedan market. Lowering the price, improving the exterior design, and adding safety features make the Almera more appealing to customers looking for a reliable and practical sedan.
The challenge for the Almera is that, at this price point, customers have a wide range of options, from sedans to urban crossovers or electric vehicles. Time will tell if the Almera can outperform other Nissan models in terms of customer satisfaction.
