With the arrival of the Lunar New Year holiday, the demand for car washing and detailing services has surged, leading to a rise in prices for these services.
Car Wash Prices on the Rise
At a car wash facility in Nha Be District, Ho Chi Minh City, our Tri Thuc – Znews reporters observed a substantial queue of motorcycles awaiting their turn, while the number of cars was less prominent.
According to the staff, the price for washing a motorcycle has increased by 5,000 VND per turn compared to regular days. For cars, the washing service fee has gone up by 10,000 VND per turn.
At this facility, the cost of washing a motorcycle on the 26th day of the lunar month is 35,000 VND per bike, and it increases to 45,000 VND for larger motorcycles and scooters.
The price for washing a small car typically ranges from 50,000 to 70,000 VND, but it has now increased to 60,000-80,000 VND. However, our reporters noted that there wasn’t a significant number of cars waiting at this car wash.

“We’ve been seeing more customers bringing their vehicles for a wash today. By 8-9 am, we already had almost ten cars in line,” shared a staff member.
Some car wash facilities in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City, are less crowded than usual. It is expected that the number of customers will increase during the last few days before the New Year.
At a car wash facility in Hanoi, the price for washing motorcycles and scooters during the Lunar New Year holiday ranges from 55,000 to 100,000 VND, depending on the vehicle’s size.
For larger motorcycles and scooters, the washing cost can go up to 300,000 VND per turn, applicable from January 21st to 27th.
Car Wash Services Steadily Increase Prices Until New Year’s Eve
Recently, a photo of a price list for car washing services from a facility has been circulating on social media, showing a steady increase in prices until New Year’s Eve.
Specifically, the price for washing a small 4-seater car at this facility is 100,000 VND on the 25th and 26th of the lunar month and doubles to 200,000 VND during the last three days of the year.

The corresponding prices for a 5-seater sedan are 150,000 VND and 250,000 VND, respectively. Additionally, the facility offers a washing service for pickup trucks and 7- to 9-seater vans at 300,000 VND during the 27th, 28th, and 29th of the lunar month.
Some individuals have also shared their experiences of getting their cars washed for 120,000-150,000 VND per turn on the 26th day of the lunar month.
“The price for car washing services has doubled compared to regular days,” said a customer.
On online forums, the significant price increase for car wash services during the Lunar New Year holiday has sparked mixed reactions.
Most people acknowledge that car wash service prices tend to be higher during the holiday season, sometimes even doubling the regular rates. Many opt to wash their vehicles at home to save costs.
However, some individuals accept this price increase and are willing to pay for the service to have their cars looking their best before the New Year.
“During the Lunar New Year holiday, I have the opportunity to rest and bring my car for a wash, while the car wash staff continues to work. Therefore, I don’t mind paying a little extra for their services,” shared Doan Duc, an online user.
