Aston Martin has just officially unveiled the DBX S – the new high-performance version of the DBX SUV, replacing the top-of-the-line DBX707.
DBX S continues the tradition of bearing the “S” insignia, originating from the DB3S race car in 1953, and represents a generation of luxury SUVs with performance akin to supercars. The extensive use of lightweight materials results in a curb weight of 2,198 kg, approximately 47 kg lighter than the DBX707, with an ideal 53:47 front-rear weight distribution.
The exterior of the DBX S makes a bold statement with its honeycomb grille crafted from polycarbonate, weighing 3 kg less. The option of a grille with horizontal slats from the DBX707 is also available.
The front air dam has been entirely redesigned in carbon fiber, integrating LED fog lights, and accented with the striking Rosso Corsa Red hue.
The new exhaust system and rear diffuser have been fine-tuned to optimize airflow and enhance cooling efficiency.
DBX S boasts overall dimensions of 5,039 mm in length, 1,998 mm in width, and 1,680 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,060 mm. The adjustable air suspension provides a ground clearance ranging from 190 mm to 235 mm, and the vehicle can wade through static water up to 500 mm deep.
Customers have a choice of seven different 23-inch wheel designs, including magnesium alloy wheels that reduce weight by up to 19 kg compared to the standard aluminum ones. The braking system features carbon-ceramic discs measuring 420 mm at the front and 390 mm at the rear, complemented by nine vibrant caliper color options.
In addition to the standard dark trim package, a premium carbon fiber exterior package is available as an option. The “S” logo is discreetly placed behind the front wheel arch as a distinctive identifier. The roof offers two choices: a panoramic sunroof or a carbon fiber roof that lowers the center of gravity and enhances the driving experience.
The interior of the DBX S features a premium Alcantara-clad dashboard and seats with a unique fishbone pattern. The “S” logo is elegantly embroidered on the seatbacks, while the Aston Martin emblem is embossed on the headrests. The vehicle is equipped with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch central touchscreen.
The entertainment system includes the Aston Martin Premium Audio setup with 14 speakers and an output of 800W, or buyers can opt for the Bowers & Wilkins 3D system with 23 speakers and an impressive 1,600W of power – one of the most powerful configurations in the luxury SUV segment.
At the heart of the DBX S is a 4.0L twin-turbocharged V8 engine, producing 727 horsepower and a whopping 900 Nm of torque. These figures even surpass those of the previous DBX707. The engine borrows technology from the Aston Martin Valhalla supercar and is paired with a 9-speed wet clutch automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system.
As a result, the DBX S can sprint from 0-100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 310 km/h, making it one of the fastest SUVs in the world. The quad-exhaust system and active aerodynamics management help reduce backpressure and improve engine cooling during high-performance driving.
The SUV offers five driving modes: GT, Sport, Sport+, Terrain, and Individual, allowing the driver to customize the settings for the suspension, steering feel, and exhaust sound to suit their preferences.
Aston Martin DBX S is now open for global orders, with deliveries expected to commence in Q4 2025. While the exact pricing has not been disclosed, it is anticipated to exceed the starting price of $256,000 (approximately 6.65 billion VND) of the DBX707 in the US market.
