Bugatti has confirmed that its entire production run is sold out until 2029, despite the volatile global automotive market.
At the 2025 Monterey Car Week event, Frank Heyl, Bugatti’s design director, revealed that the company is focused on producing 250 Tourbillons and finalizing the last remaining Bolide units, all of which have been sold. “With this financial stability, Bugatti can firmly establish long-term strategies,” he said.
Unlike mainstream brands, or even Mercedes and BMW, which have to compete to retain customers, Bugatti exists in a “different universe.” Its customers are willing to wait for years to get their hands on one of their vehicles. This is similar to the experience of buying a Rolex Daytona or other luxury watches, where customers not only have to wait but also need to be “chosen.”
Bugatti is currently constructing a new factory in France, but it spans less than 0.5 hectares. This factory aims to optimize production rather than significantly increase output.
In June 2024, Bugatti marked a new chapter with the unveiling of the Tourbillon hypercar. This model features a hybrid powertrain that combines a naturally aspirated V16 8.3L engine (replacing the W16 8.0L) with an electric motor. Simultaneously, the company announced the “coachbuild” program named Solitaire for unique projects, allowing the continued use of the legendary W16 engine.
