Mitsubishi continues to hold off on introducing the next-gen iteration of its Pajero Sport SUV, despite having already given its Triton pickup a new lease on life. However, in the meantime, and until we can expect the next-gen Pajero Sport to debut sometime in 2025, Mitsubishi has given the current-gen Pajero Sport a mild refresh with some tweaks to its exterior and interior.

At first glance, the 2024 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport wears a familiar look but a closer inspection reveals new details. These include a revised grille with a new honeycomb mesh pattern in the center intake and a different lower bumper garnish.

Mitsubishi has also introduced a new 18-inch alloy wheel design and added a new Blade Silver exterior color option, which is also available on the Triton.

Meanwhile, the range-topping Pajero Sport GSR variant gains even bolder black exterior accents on the mirror caps, door handles, tailgate handle, and a new Graphite Grey color option with a black roof.

Inside the cabin, notable highlights include a new three-spoke steering wheel that is shared with the Triton pickup. The upper-spec Exceed and GSR variants get an 8-inch digital instrument cluster with new graphics. The GSR gets a quilted two-tone maroon and black synthetic leather interior, giving it a more premium ambience, along with dark titanium accents. As for the base GLX variant, it now comes with automatic headlights and wipers as standard.

It’s worth noting that the specifications mentioned above are for the Australian-spec 2024 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, as in Thailand, the range-topping Pajero Sport Elite Edition gets a 12.1-inch rear-seat entertainment display.

In the Australian market, the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is powered by a 2.4-liter turbodiesel engine that makes 178 PS and 430 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, in Thailand, the Pajero Sport gets a newer 2.4-liter turbodiesel from the Triton that produces slightly more power at 181 PS. RWD variants have been dropped from the Australian lineup, meaning the Pajero Sport is now only available in 4WD guise with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Pricing for the 2024 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport in Australia ranges from $33,428 to $42,055, while in Thailand, the Pajero Sport is priced between 37,391-42,506 USD.

The third-generation Mitsubishi Pajero was first introduced in 2015, and it received a comprehensive facelift in 2019. This latest, and more minor, update for 2024 will likely be the final refresh as an all-new generation of the SUV is rumored to be in development.
