A Vienna man has learned a costly lesson after attempting to transform his Ferrari 296 GTB into a “work of art” on his apartment balcony.
Just days after hiring a crane to hoist the supercar to his high-rise balcony for display, he was forced to remove it following orders from local authorities.
Amar Dezic, the owner of a car parts and customization business, boasts a collection of luxury and supercars, including a Porsche Panamera, BMW M2, and Range Rover Sport. Among these, the Ferrari 296 GTB holds a special place in his heart, which he intended to showcase uniquely.
With the apartment’s shared parking lot full, Dezic devised a bold plan: use a crane to lift the Ferrari 296 GTB onto his private balcony, intending to encase it in a glowing glass display as an art piece. The entire process was documented for social media.
However, less than a week later, local authorities demanded its removal, citing concerns that the balcony could not support the vehicle’s weight and the potential fire hazard posed by storing a fuel-powered vehicle in a residential area.
Ultimately, Dezic had to relocate the supercar to his company’s warehouse for winter storage, concluding the short-lived but attention-grabbing “balcony exhibit.”
