Recently, the high-speed sports car, dubbed the fastest in the Porsche Cayman lineup, made a surprising appearance on the streets of Ho Chi Minh City, capturing the attention of car enthusiasts. The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS, finished in a striking red color, has become the talk of the town.
The excitement doesn’t end there. Another Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS, registered in Dong Nai province, was recently spotted cruising the same streets. This brings the total to at least two of these street-legal race cars unveiled in Vietnam, with more expected to follow.

You might be surprised to learn that the Porsche 718 Cayman starts at just 3.9 billion VND in Vietnam, while the newly arrived GT4 RS version commands a staggering 14 billion VND, surpassing even the 911 GTS 992.2. This highlights the extravagant spending habits of Vietnam’s elite.
Social media images reveal that this particular Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS is finished in a stunning blue color, complemented by numerous eye-catching carbon fiber details. It promises to be a game-changer within Vietnam’s Porsche enthusiast community. Porsche previously announced that the 718 Cayman GT4 RS completed a lap of the Nurburgring in an impressive 7:04.511 minutes, outperforming the 718 GT4 by 23.6 seconds.

To achieve such remarkable performance, the German automaker equipped the 718 Cayman GT4 RS with the naturally aspirated 4.0L 6-cylinder engine from the 911 GT3, which has already seen at least six units delivered to Vietnam. This engine boasts a redline of 9,000 rpm.
After tuning, this powerplant delivers 500 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque to the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS, slightly less than the 911 GT3’s 510 horsepower and 470 Nm. Nonetheless, these figures represent an 80 horsepower and 30 Nm increase over the standard Cayman GT4, enabling the GT4 RS to reach a top speed of 315 km/h and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds.
In comparison, the Cayman GT4 with the PDK transmission achieves a top speed of 302 km/h and takes 3.9 seconds to reach 100 km/h from a standstill. For the GT4 RS, Porsche offers only the 7-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission with shorter gear ratios, eliminating the option for a manual gearbox.
