The Kia EV6 electric car was first introduced in March 2021. After three years, Kia is preparing to launch the first mid-cycle refresh of the model. Ahead of that, Kia has released a handful of shadowy teaser images of the upcoming EV6.

It’s no surprise that Kia has given the EV6 a styling refresh. From what we can see in the automaker’s teaser images, the 2025 EV6 will adopt Kia’s latest design language. This is most apparent at the front end, where the EV6 gets a new LED daytime running light strip inspired by a constellation. This strip encircles the car’s main headlights.

The 2025 Kia EV6 also sports a new, narrower “tiger nose” grille that sits between the headlights. The front bumper is also expected to be redesigned to match the updated look.

Around back, the EV6 gets new taillights that also draw inspiration from constellations for their design, like the daytime running lights. These taillights are full-width and stretch across the back of the car, similar to the outgoing model.

Kia hasn’t released any specific details about the updated EV6. However, it’s rumored that the car will receive updated electric motors and a bigger battery pack to help it stay competitive. The 2025 Kia EV6 is said to get a battery pack around 84 kWh in size, which should boost its range on a single charge.

For reference, the current version of the EV6 on the market comes with either a 58-kWh or 77.5-kWh battery pack. Those battery packs provide between 370 and 475 km of range.

The Kia EV6 is also available with either one or two electric motors, depending on the trim level. The Standard Range model gets a single 170-horsepower, 350-Nm electric motor mounted on the rear axle. The 2WD Long Range model has a more powerful 225-hp, 350-Nm electric motor.

The AWD Long Range model adds a second electric motor to the front axle, for a total system output of 321 hp and 605 Nm of torque. The Kia EV6 GT-Line, meanwhile, makes a whopping 584 hp, which enables it to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 260 km/h.

The EV6 supports both 400-volt and 800-volt fast-charging technology, with charging rates of up to 350 kW. With a 350-kW DC fast charger, the EV6 can go from 10-80% battery capacity in just 18 minutes.

The 2025 Kia EV6 will likely continue to ride on the Hyundai Motor Group’s E-GMP platform specifically designed for electric vehicles. The car’s dimensions are also expected to remain the same, with a length of 4,680 mm, a width of 1,890 mm, a height of 1,550 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,900 mm.

Pricing and availability for the updated Kia EV6 have not yet been announced. The EV6 was previously brought to Vietnam for display purposes, but it is not yet on sale. Meanwhile, the Kia EV6’s corporate cousin, the Hyundai Ioniq 5, is now on sale in Vietnam with prices ranging from 1.3 to 1.45 billion VND.
